What to expect…
Before your float:
- Don’t worry about bringing anything. We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
- Avoid shaving or waxing 24 hours before to avoid irritation.
- Please wait two weeks after dyeing your hair to float.
- We recommend having a light snack before, not a big meal.
- We recommend bringing a swim cap if you don’t want to get your hair wet.
When you arrive:
- There are limited metered parking spots right outside the shop. There is also free two-hour parking at the parking structure, a short walk away, accessible on 4th and 5th street.
- Once you check into our lobby, you will receive a quick walk-through of the facilities and the float process.
- We recommend using the restroom before.
- Your private room has a shower and a float tank.
- Get in the shower and completely clean your hair and body. Be sure to rinse out all your hair products thoroughly.
- There is a 15-minute period granted to undress and shower so that you have a full hour inside the tank.
- Light spa music will play to indicate the beginning and end of your float.
During your float:
- If you are a first-time floater, try to have a few expectations. Most people have difficulty completely unwinding the first time. The sudden disconnect from life’s noise can take some time to adjust. Most people get the most out of the experience by the second or third time floating.
- Customize the float to your preferences with gentle music and ambient lighting.
After your float:
- Congrats! You did something good for yourself, so relax- you deserve it.
- You may notice clear-headedness, less stress in your body, and a subsequent good night’s sleep.
What should I expect?
Try to arrive without too many expectations. Everyone experiences something different when floating, so having an open mind is what’s most important.

We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before your float.
It’s downtown? Where should I park?
There is metered parking right outside FloatSpace and free two-hour parking just a short walk away in the city place b parking structure, which can be accessed from both 4th and 5th street.
What do I need to do to prepare?
There is not much preparation necessary. We recommend not shaving or waxing 24 hours before your appointment since the salt in the tanks will cause some mild irritation.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, bring yourself & enjoy total relaxation. We will provide everything necessary for your float. We will provide you with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and petroleum jelly in case of any minor scrapes or scars. Feel free to bring a brush or comb if you choose to.
Can I eat before my float?
We recommend having a light meal or snack a few hours before your float so you won’t have to use the restroom in the middle of your float. Also, refrain from drinking caffeine before your float since it will make it harder to relax.
Is the water clean?
At FloatSpace, cleanliness is of the utmost importance. The water in the tanks is cleaner than your normal drinking water. The water in the tanks is filtered through a three-step filtration system that passes the water three times through a 3,000-micron filter, ultraviolet light, and ozone to leave the water cleaner than your bath water.
What if I am claustrophobic?
If you worry about claustrophobia, you can always take baby steps till you are comfortable in the cabin. Our Dream Pod Cabins allow you to fully customize your float and leave a light on inside your tank during the duration of the float. Still uneasy with the enclosed space? You are more than welcome to use the hand towel to pry the door open to allow more external air inside the tank.
What is magnesium sulfate?
Magnesium sulfate is a magical mineral that allows you to float effortlessly in our cabins! Magnesium sulfate (also known as Epsom salt) has many beneficial properties that can help reduce pain and swelling, promote sleep and stress reduction, and help with performance and recovery!
Can I float while pregnant?
Yes! Floating is a great way for pregnant women to relieve stress on the body and mind. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to contact a doctor before coming in for a float.
What about my hair?
We encourage you not to shave or wax 24 hours before your float since a large amount of salt in the water will most likely cause skin irritation.
